わが息子から贈られた愛しの文具 - ZEBRA サラサ3

　日々の業務では3色ボールペンが欠かせない。ところが、その多くは黒インクがまず切れてしまう。そうすると残りの色インクが残っていても、もったいないがそのボールペンは使われずじまいになり、新しいボールペンに乗り換えることがほとんどだった。

　ところが、最近愛用するようになったZEBRAのサラサ３はそういうわけにはいかなかった。これは息子がなけなしの小遣いをはたいて買ってくれたプレゼントなのだ。

　ZEBRA サラサ3、ジェルインクすなわち水性顔料インクを採用したこの3色ペンの書き味抜群だ。インクの出具合は書き始めから書き終わりまで滑らかでこれを使い始めると普通のボールペンに戻れなくなった。店員さんに頼んでキレイに袋に入れリボンをかけられたこのサラサ３を小生に贈る時、
「このペンは普通のボールペンとは違うんだよ。すごい書きやすいんだよ。」
と言葉をかけてくれた息子。モノにこだわる小生の血を受け継いでいるのかと嬉しく思いながら試し書きをしたら、本当にサラサラの書き味に驚いた。
「ありがとう。これは書きやすいペンだね。毎日職場で使わせてもらうよ。」
と伝えた時の彼の弾けるような笑顔。。。

　そんなわけでインクが切れてもボディはまだ使えるので何としても使い続けたいと思ったのだ。そこでZEBRAのHPを見ると替芯注文のサービスがちゃんと用意されているではないか。替芯代金分の切手を送付すると合計金額200円以上であれば送料無料で送ってくれるとのこと。早速注文したところ数日後には普通郵便の封書に入った替芯が送られてきた。定価367円の3色ペンが1本60円x3=180円の替芯で蘇る。ZEBRA社のこの心憎いサービスに価値を見出すことは息子からのプレゼントでなければ無かったかもしれない。。。

　付け加えると、普通の3色ボールペンではクリップ部分が破損することが多いのだが、このサラサ３は可動式バインダークリップを採用しており、この点からも息子からのプレゼントをこれから先長く愛用することができそうだ。

　昨日、息子に替芯を注文できたからサラサをこれからも使い続けていくよと伝えたら、またあの輝くような笑顔が満面に広がった。367円のサラサ３はそれよりずっと高価な筆記具を差し置いて小生の職場着の胸ポケットに収まり続けるだろう。
